Church of the Living Word History

Praise be unto God for Dr. Floyd M. Blackwell releasing Pastor Gregory Woodard to pioneer a work in Gloucester County. Upon receiving his blessings, Church of the Living Word was birthed January 3, 1993 in a home with 7 charter members. In acting upon the call of God to reach the County of Gloucester and surrounding areas with the full gospel, the small mission moved immediately to joint services with New Life Church of God on Tidemill Road, Hayes, VA. They were in the process of building a new edifice and the present church building was for sale.  This was a miracle that two different denominations and nationalities came together as one body in serving the Lord. On July 4, 1993 by the mighty hand of God, we purchased the building!

Our vision is "Building A Victorious Church That Lives the Word Through the Power of Jesus Christ." God has been faithful through the years in building HIS church under the leadership of Pastors Gregory & Eunice Woodard. God is taking us to the next level to reach the full growth and potential of the kingdom.
